The purpose of the study is to understand current level of awareness and referral practices of patients with stroke to speech therapy (or speech-language pathology) services by other medical professionals with the goal of improving identification and referral of patients with suspected or observed communication impairments due to stroke.

Disordered Breathing Intervention
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of an at-home intervention program on breathing and sleep in adults. Seeking individuals > 18 years of age who think they may have problems with their breathing affecting their daily function and/or sleep. You CANNOT participate if you can’t speak English, have a breathing disorder such as asthma, arm tingling or numbness, or any open neck wounds. After telephone screening, participation includes a total of 5 study visits and a 4- week at home breathing program guided by an audio track. Study visits will involve completing questionnaires, and measurement of breathing and function, and a wrist worn sleep monitor to wear at night. This study will provide information to help develop an intervention program for individuals with chronic pain who have disordered breathing.
